Little one and I went to our local music group a few weeks ago which she really enjoys. They have a different music provider each week and most bring out instruments to play with which always go down well. We don’t get to go every week as I sometimes end up working so we bothContinue reading Fish Risotto

Dairy Free Chocolate Biscuits
Little one hasn’t really been introduced to chocolate, apart from a little dairy and egg free chocolate cupcakes when I was trialling recipes for her first birthday (find the link for that recipe here). This recipe is little one friendly by accident rather than by choice. It was our friend’s 30th birthday party a fewContinue reading Dairy Free Chocolate Biscuits
Dairy Free Fish Pie
As little one has a dairy free diet I try hard to get calcium into her meals by other means. I also want to give her a wide range of foods including different meat, vegetables and fish. Fish isn’t something we have often but it is definitely an ingredient I would like to use more.Continue reading Dairy Free Fish Pie
Holland & Barrett’s FreeFrom Foods Bake Off Challenge #VoteLisa
Okey dokey guys it is voting time! Little one and I are taking part in Holland & Barrett’s FreeFrom Bake Off. As a massive Great British Bake Off, Masterchef (pretty much any cooking show) fan, I jumped at the chance to take part in the allergy friendly competition. Each week is focussed on a differentContinue reading Holland & Barrett’s FreeFrom Foods Bake Off Challenge #VoteLisa
Yumbox Lunches and Review
One of the reasons I started mummybakesdairyfree was to encourage me to be creative with the food I was giving little one. In many ways being an allergy mum (and wife) has made me be more adventurous with the food I make and take a lot more time thinking about everything that I out onContinue reading Yumbox Lunches and Review
Dairy Free Flapjacks
This week has been particularly busy as my husband and I are in the process of setting up a business. We’re both very excited about it and I can’t wait to share it with you all very soon… We also took little one to be fitted for her first pair of shoes. They’re a transitionContinue reading Dairy Free Flapjacks
Tuna and Sweetcorn Fishcakes
This is the second attempt at making fishcakes for little one. The first recipe I tried used tomato ketchup to replace the egg as a binding agent. Neither little one or her daddy and I were that impressed. Unfortunately I still have a tub of 10 little fishcakes of that version in the freezer, soContinue reading Tuna and Sweetcorn Fishcakes
Dairy and Egg Free Vanilla Cupcakes
For little one’s birthday party last week we had a choice of three cakes. Her number one first birthday cake was a vanilla sponge with jam and buttercream, covered in soft icing from Marks and Spencer. I also made chocolate cupcakes with a buttercream frosting. They were very unfriendly for dairy and egg allergy sufferers.Continue reading Dairy and Egg Free Vanilla Cupcakes
Dairy Free Cream Cheese Icing (two variations)
Last Sunday we met up with our antenatal class mummies, daddies and little ones for a joint first birthday celebration. Despite the weather we had a lovely time and little one thoroughly enjoyed herself in the ball pond (almost as much as her daddy)! She wasn’t as sure of the ‘Meet the Animals’ show though.Continue reading Dairy Free Cream Cheese Icing (two variations)
